Terms of use
The short version
This is a website advertising a product we haven't finished building. Everything on the home page describes what we intend to ship. Features, prices, and timing can all change, and we might not launch at all.
Joining the waitlist costs nothing, commits you to nothing, and entitles you to nothing except an email from us if and when Preheat opens.
1. What this site is
preheatapp.app is a marketing and waitlist site for Preheat, an order management tool for home bakers that is currently in development. By using the site you agree to these terms. If you don't agree with them, please don't use it.
The Preheat application is not available yet. Nothing on this site is an offer to sell you software, and no contract for a service is formed by browsing it or by joining the waitlist. When the product launches it will have its own terms of service, which you'll be asked to agree to at that point.
2. What we are and aren't promising
We've described Preheat as accurately as we can, but we're building it in the open and things will change. Specifically:
- Features are plans, not commitments. Anything described on the home page — order forms, quotes, deposits, recipe costing, the calendar, labels — may change substantially, arrive later than we hoped, or not ship at all. Anything marked "coming soon" is especially uncertain; that includes Stripe card payments and every Instagram feature, which additionally depend on approvals from third parties we don't control.
- Prices are current intentions. The pricing on the home page is what we plan to charge. It isn't locked in, and it may change before launch. The price you actually pay will be the one shown when you sign up.
- Early-access perks are conditional. Where we mention a benefit for early signups, we mean it and intend to honour it — but it depends on us launching, and the details may be adjusted if the plan changes. We'll tell the waitlist if that happens.
- We might not launch. We're two people. If it turns out bakers don't want this, we'll say so honestly and delete the list.
None of the above is a promise, guarantee, or warranty, and you shouldn't make business decisions in reliance on it.
3. Joining the waitlist
Use an email address you're entitled to use. Don't sign up other people. Joining means we may email you about Preheat — launch news, progress, and the occasional question about what you need. You can ask to be removed at any time by emailing hello@preheatapp.app, and every email we send will include a way out.

4. Using the site sensibly
Please don't:
- submit other people's email addresses, fake addresses, or automated junk;
- attempt to break into, overload, probe, or disrupt the site or the systems behind it;
- scrape or bulk-download the site, or copy its content to pass off as your own;
- use the site for anything unlawful.
We may block access or remove entries from the waitlist if we think someone is doing any of this.
5. Our content
The text, design, layout, and the Preheat name and logo belong to us. You're welcome to link to the site, quote a reasonable amount with credit, or share it with a fellow baker. You may not copy the site wholesale or use our name and branding in a way that suggests we endorse you.
6. Other companies we mention
Interac and e-Transfer, Instagram and Meta, Stripe, Venmo, Zelle, PayPal, and any competitor products named on this site are the trademarks of their respective owners. We aren't affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of them. Naming them is descriptive — it tells you what we intend to work with.
Any comparison we publish reflects our understanding of publicly available information on the date shown, and other companies can change their products and pricing whenever they like. Please check for yourself before making a decision based on it, and tell us if you think we've got something wrong — we'll correct it.
7. Nothing here is professional advice
Preheat is a tool, not an advisor. Anything we publish about cottage food rules, home-kitchen labelling, revenue caps, or taxes is general information to help you ask the right questions. It is not legal, accounting, or food-safety advice, and it may be out of date or wrong for your municipality. You remain responsible for complying with the rules that apply to your business, and you should verify anything important with your local authority.
8. The site is provided as-is
We do our best to keep this site accurate and available, but we provide it "as is". We don't warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that everything on it is complete and current.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we're not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of this site or from anything you did in anticipation of Preheat launching — including lost profits, lost business, or lost data. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, and nothing here removes rights you have under Canadian consumer protection law that can't be waived.
9. Changes
We may update these terms as the product takes shape. The date at the top shows the current version, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any dispute goes to the courts of Alberta, though we'd much rather you just emailed us first.
