Made in a Home Kitchen That is Not Inspected by a Government Agency

This is published as fixed text, so reproduce it exactly rather than rewording it. It has to appear at 12 point type or larger, which is part of the requirement rather than a design choice.

The detail

The Food Safety Regulations, P-37.1 Reg 12, s. 28.3. The label must (a) be minimally in 12-point font, (b) contain the statement exactly as given, and (c) contain the name of the low risk food, the name of the home food processor including any business name, the processor's address and telephone number, and the date the food was produced or processed. s. 28.3(3): low risk food must not be sold or resold without that label. Capitalization above is exactly as printed in the regulation (title case, no period). Other constraints that bite: only low risk (non potentially hazardous) food, s. 28.1; a person who has completed an approved food safety course must be working in the premises whenever food is prepared, s. 28.7; sales are permitted direct to consumer or to a retail/wholesale establishment that does not itself prepare food, s. 28.5; sales are PROHIBITED to hospitals, health centres, larger special-care and personal care homes, child care centres, and food facilities, s. 28.6. The 12-point rule appears to attach to the whole label, not just the statement.
