What goes on the label

1. The product name, in words a customer would use.
2. Every ingredient, heaviest first.
3. The major allergens, called out separately from the ingredient list.
4. Who made it: your name or your business name.
5. How to reach you.
6. The date it was made.

Quebec asks for no "not inspected" line

The kitchen is inspected before any sale, so there is nothing to disclaim. Everything else above still applies.

The detail

Quebec has NO cottage food scheme. quebec.ca states: "Pour preparer des repas a partir de la cuisine d'un domicile, le permis de restauration est requis" and "Il est obligatoire de demander un ou des permis appropries a vos activites, delivres par le ministere de l'Agriculture, des Pecheries et de l'Alimentation." A domestic kitchen may be used only if: production stays at or under 100 kg of food per month ("la quantite de nourriture manipulee doit se limiter a 100 kg par mois"), sales are direct to the consumer (no wholesale, no reseller), the kitchen is not simultaneously in personal use, and the operator has completed food-handler/manager training. An inspector verifies the premises. Giving food away free is unregulated ("Aucune regle ne s'applique lorsque vous offrez gratuitement les produits"), and unprocessed garden produce can be sold without a permit. Labelling defers to the general Quebec/federal processed-food labelling rules (name, address, ingredients, etc.); nothing about inspection status. The MAPAQ permit itself must be held and displayed at the establishment, which is a posting duty, not a label line. Montreal is the one place where the enforcing inspector is municipal rather than provincial (montreal.ca: "A titre de mandataire du ministere de l'Agriculture, des Pecheries et de l'Alimentation du Quebec (MAPAQ), elle inspecte des restaurants et des epiceries..."), verified at https://montreal.ca/sujets/inspection-des-aliments
