# Cottage food label requirements in New Mexico

2. Every ingredient, heaviest first.
3. The major allergens, called out separately from the ingredient list.
4. Who made it: your name or your business name.
5. How to reach you.
6. The date it was made.

## Detail

No permit or registration under the Homemade Food Act. Label (or bulk-container label, point-of-sale place card, or the web page where the item is sold) must also carry the processor's name, HOME ADDRESS, telephone number and email address; the common name of the item; and ingredients in descending order of predominance INCLUDING sub-ingredients, e.g. 'butter (cream (milk), salt)'. NMED enforces; it can order a mislabeled product corrected immediately or fine the producer, and NMED (possibly with the NM Department of Health) investigates foodborne illness complaints. Note that the required text is two sentences and both are mandatory.
